About Axis Dance & Acro
Core Values
TRAINING
Even the most talented dancer will not reach their fullest potential without consistent training. Training breeds progress, and progress breeds mastery. It is through training that young dancers learn the value of hard work and incremental success.
At Axis Dance, you can find training in just about any style of dance, as well as acrobatics and aerial arts. We are open 6 days a week and offer group and private lessons. View our class descriptions, class package offerings, and more to maximize your dancer's training.
TALENT
Talent should be a source of inner pride and outward humbleness. Acknowledge your talents. Challenge and hone them. Share your gifts, but always remain humble and gracious.
Axis Dance & Acro is home to a tight-knit, talented team of dance educators and choreographers that will shape your child's talents and enhance their learning. We strive to highlight the incredible talent in all of our dancers and support the unlimited growth potential for our dancers.
TENACITY
Training can be grueling, even–and perhaps especially–for highly talented dancers. It is tenacity that gets you through these times. Be passionate, zealous, and determined. You will sweat, you will bruise...and you will persist.
Our instructors provide coaching and one-on-one mentorship to all of their students. We help each child reach their individual goals - from the mastery of a particular skill, to placement on a high school dance team, to pursuit of an education or career in the performing arts.
TEAMWORK
The ability to work with others is an essential skill for success in life. Develop trust in yourself and others. You cannot do it alone, and you won't have to.
At Axis Dance, we encourage our dancers to work together and to inspire and motivate each other. Our instructors, dancers, parents, and other relatives are all part of The Axis dance family, and we value what everyone brings to the mix.
Code of Conduct
CONDUCT
Conduct is about our own personal behavior and at Axis we expect all instructors, dancers, and Axis families to conduct themselves with the following tenants in mind:
-
Respect the studio, equipment, furniture, etc., and clean up after yourself; treat it as if it were your own.
-
Do not cause intentional damage or vandalize property at the studio or at an event where you represent the studio.
-
Treat other dancers, coaches and instructors, studio staff, studio families, and everyone you might come across at competitions/conventions/events with respect and kindness.
-
Avoid gossip, toxicity, negativity - there's just no room for it!
-
We strongly discourage ever speaking bad about other studios, dancers, routines, or our own. We have little tolerance for that behavior.
-
Look out for one another and be supportive of all your fellow dancers.
-
Be mindful of all ages - be age appropriate in what you say and how you behave. Many young dancers look up to the older dancers. Act accordingly!
-
When at a competition/convention/event - whether with the whole studio or individually - you are an extension of the studio; you represent the studio; please keep that in mind.
